DER VOGELHÄNDLER (THE BIRD SELLER)
Der Vogelhändler (The Bird Seller) a well-loved and ever-popular operetta, presents a comic tale of love, jealousy, disguise and a little bribery. It takes place in Germany's Rhineland, but the bird seller himself, Adam, coming from Austria's Tyrol, brings a breath of the Alps with him. Carl Zeller's melodies, such as „Schenkt man sich Rosen in Tirol“, „Ich bin die Christel von der Post“ and „Grüß' euch Gott, alle miteinander“ have become great favourites.
